When a mother’s love meets science and compassion, the results can be truly healing.

Gladys Cuesta (GC) recently scheduled a heartfelt telephonic consultation with Dr. Ali, seeking answers for her son, Henry Jr. (H. Jr.), who had been diagnosed with leukemia. As any parent would, she was looking for every opportunity to support his healing journey—especially following his scheduled bone marrow transplant.

During the conversation, GC asked if oxygen therapy—specifically Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)—could play a role in Henry Jr.’s recovery. Dr. Ali responded with empathy and encouragement. “Absolutely,” he said. “Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy can support tissue regeneration, reduce inflammation, strengthen the immune system, and accelerate post-transplant recovery.”

He explained that HBOT increases oxygen concentration in the blood and helps the body repair at a cellular level—particularly important for patients recovering from chemotherapy, radiation, or major surgeries like a transplant.

“Don’t hesitate to call me back,” Dr. Ali added, offering even more than medical advice. “I would be honored to volunteer a few sessions at no charge to support your son’s healing.”

When Henry Jr. was finally released from the hospital, he attended several HBOT sessions. His energy began to improve, his immune markers stabilized, and for the first time in many months, his mother saw glimpses of his old self returning.
